day two alarm clock of panic Posted on 23 Jun 2010 by tempo
woke up super early to a strange noise at my window, my cat bingo had decided to scale the three foot high fan, then get inbetween the window and the screen without a thought as to how she would get out. enter panic mode.
i jumped up and it was a weird scramble to get her out before she did damage to the screen that could lead to her escape. for now the fan is moved and the window is closed until i can find a board to fill the top part in in order to prevent future breakout attempts.
so its the longest day of the year and super hot out, so what am i going to do first? im going to apologize in advance for horrible grammar, and no i have not been drinking.
a while back my cat decided to take a running jump and do her best tokyo drift impression across my desk, only to hit a just opened bottle of beer which then tipped directly onto my laptop keyboard. insert panic, swearing and all manner of freaking out at the point.
but the laptop wasnt really harmed, at least not noticably at first. i soon found out that the delete key and the apostrophe/quotation mark key are no longer functional. fuck. not that i cant just go over this article with the on-screen keyboard open and put those necessary puctuation goons back in with their posse of letters, but i know im going to miss some and people will think im retarded or simply very lazy.

so its ridiculously hot outside, but i like that, but what happens is my apt becomes a sauna, and not even a nice one and i feel bad for the cat, she has a fur coat.
my apt building has a simple rule, i dont have to pay for several utilities if only i dont have air conditioning. this is because people will overuse air conditioning and they drain power like crazy, so last year i had a small fan on a shelf behind me pushing a narrow yet comfortable beam of cool air onto me and i was fine, but this year i have the cat and shes getting noticably irritable with the heat and i would also like to not sweat buckets when i am attempting to sleep.
then the other day in midst a conversation with my landlord he mentioned i get one of those double fan window dealys, we have all seen them before, but i mentioned the no AC rule, only to be informed these dont use anywhere near the same amount of power and do a decent job. TO THE MALL!
so here it is, already it has been slowly cooling down the apartment, only that i had to put the blinds up to get more airflow, as you can see in the picture bingo has totally devestated them, she even bend the end bits in to form a doorway on either side of them for easier access to her little window ledge cat house.
